Naushawng Development Institute (NDI) is an independent, non-profit education and development policy organization founded on April 9th2009. NDI is dedicated to strengthening democracy and promoting community development in northern Myanmar. NDI contributes to democratic transition, peace building and sustainable development in Myanmar through training; education; advocacy; research and policy development analysis, as well as networking.
The Naushawng Research Grant calls for proposals from eligible individuals and research teams for quality research projects. The research grant can focus on any issues and topics that in line with the disciplines of education, democracy, social policy, political economy, development economics, peace and sustainable development. The research grant intends to extend knowledge and contribute to solving the particular social issues, policy problems with evidence-based quality research.
We also aim to encourage young scholars to make a significant academic contribution to solving local and regional issues. The length of time to conduct the research project is for three months. The maximum grant is 1,500,000 MMK. The research proposal shall be submitted to [email protected] no later than March 20, 2020.
The research grant selection criteria are based on:
- Originality and relevant issues or topics
- Potential contribution to solutions to the social or policy issues
- Research design and methods
- Value for money
- The impacts of research outputs, dissemination
